An artist caught in the conflict between his day job and art practice, Evans, in an attempt to strike back, responds to the day to day events and surroundings of the chip shop. In this chapel-like installation, he uses drawings, paint and objects to portray a domestic shrine to the forgotten working class bachelor.
Drawing is the core of my creative process + extends from spontaneous sketches to protracted large-scale pieces. My work addresses social issues affecting people surviving on the fringes of urban landscapes. It is important to explore contemporary, often politically charged themes; I strive to create work to do them justice.
As well as his exhibiting career, Geraint has acted as curator and exhibition technician often working with tacticleBosch gallery and studios in Cardiff. Geraint graduated from Swansea Metropolitan University in 2009 with a BA (hons) Fine Art.
